Interface features

Desktop-Is the  screen area from a computer which contains files,folders etc.



Windows-It show's your program or file information.



Dialog Boxes-Is when you see a message box whit some information about something you are doing.




Sub-Menus-Is a secondary menu that appears while you are holding the cursor over an item on the primary menu.




Toolbars-Is a strip of icons that can be clicked to perform certain functions.





Icons-Is a small picture or symbol on a graphical user interface that represents a program or file.



Scrollbars-Is a long thin section at the edge of a computer display by which material can be scrolled using a mouse.











Drag and Drop-Move an image or highlighted text to another part of the screen using a mouse or similar device.













Zoom- With zoom you can see things big or small to see then clear or easily.

Files and folder handling

I have done 7 videos unfortunately i can't upload the videos to my blog because it will take some minutes to upload all the videos so i uploaded the videos to learning box.


  • How to copy files: You can use this function when you want to copy a file from a folder to another one.
  • How to search for a file or folder:You use this function to search any file or folder you want,you find a file or folder you need to search by the name.
  • How to sort a document file by name:This function is to sort documents or file by name,it is more easy to find something in Alphabetical order.
  • How to delete a file:You can use this function when you want to delete something you don't need anymore,when you delete the file,it will go to the Recycle bin(sometimes you can't restore files).
  • How to rename a file:This function is very useful when you want to change the from a file or folder.
  • How to move a file:With this function you can move a file or folder to another place you want.
  • How to create a folder and subfolder:The New folder option is used when you want to create a folder for a file. Subfolder is to create a folder inside another folder.

STARTING UP AN IT SYSTEM

Powering up a system

When you want to use your computer you press the start button to make your computer work
.

Logging in

Is when you want to start using your windows account,you will need to use your username and your password

THE SHUTDOWN MENU

Logging off

Is when you don't want to use your account,you can close your account to open another one.

Locking/Unlocking your machine

You can Lock your session in the computer when you don't want to finish your session and this will froze in everything you was doing before.

Standby 

You can put your screen in a low-power mode when you need to leave your computer for a short break and you can quickly resume working.

Hibernate

You can use hibernate when you don't want to shutdown your computer,so instead of shutdown you use Hibernate to put your computer in a rest mode.

Shutdown

You use shutdown when you don't tou use anymore your computer,this will close all open programs,shut down windows and then turns off your computer.


Restart 

You can use restart when your computer is frozen for a period of time,and this will close all open programs,shut down windows and starts again.
